Books, Assassins, and Internships, oh my!

This past week has been a ride to say the least. Riddled with computer problems and my ever growing list of things to do, I made some time for some fun.

I had preordered Hillary Clinton's "What Happened" and picked it up a week ago today. I soaked it up in less than 24 hours. Filled with powerful quotes, her prose jumped off the page and filled my heart with joy and sadness at the same time. Reading about her ideas for policies, programs, and where to focus development were inspiring and, because they will not become reality under her reign, disheartening. I'm working on a longer review of the book which later this week you can read here.

I was able to catch American Assassin on opening night with a friend of mine. It was your typical action movie with the predictable twist at the end. Dylan O'Brien's debut role in a film like this was the only reason we wanted to see the film and while it was entertaining I would recommend waiting till you can watch from the comfort of your bed/couch.

Finally, and mos importantly, I've been fortunate enough to earn my first internship in the International Development field. I'm beginning as a Training and Gender Equity Policy Intern at Right to Play. I'm so excited for everything I will learn and the change I will be able to influence! (More on this following my first day).
